Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve 2007

Benjamin and cousin, Nathan May

Merry (belated) Christmas, everyone! Over the holidays, we traveled to see family. First, we spent the weekend prior to Christmas in Chicago at brother Paul and sister-in-law, Heidi's house. Paul and Heidi are expecting twins this January, so were unable to travel far this year- so we brought the big 'ol party to them. The whole May family, which is growing bigger in leaps and bounds is currently topping off at seventeen people- 10 adults and 7 kids under the age of eight. Wow- it certainly makes for good times, and a lot of noise when we are all together! After, a wonderful time spent in Chicago we were on the road to Sarah's parent's home in Ft. Wayne. Some hours later, and a crash into the ditch (we hit an animal in a rain storm, but no one was hurt), we were ready for more feasting and gift opening. We made it through an eventful 7pm Christmas Eve service (quite the challenge with 2 kids ready for bed), and were on our way back home to Granger to celebrate with the Galiher family. It was really a blast getting to celebrate Christmas so many times, in so many places, and truly a blessing to see all of our family! Thomas certainly enjoyed the holidays- when our Christmas marathon finally ended, he was confused the next day when it was all over. I think he started to think that everyday was a holiday, and each day came with another gift to open! Wishful thinking buddy.

Ready for Christmas

This month has been super hectic for us- traveling almost every weekend, running around during the week going to playgroups and more, and still fighting off an extremely persistent cold. Time we have at home is treasured.

This week we had a surprise SNOW DAY, and thus an extra day home with Daddy. We enjoyed sleeping in, feasting on Sean's famous "diner-style" breakfast, playing games, putting up Christmas decorations, and Thomas' favorite- wrestling in the living room! The whole day was topped off with a bathtub party for the boys. Benjamin was very tolerant of all the splashing and swimming, amazingly. One of these days, he will be able to dish it out a bit more. That will be interesting. This weekend, our travels begin again with a trip to Griffith to celebrate Christmas a bit early with the Galiher family, and also to attend Uncle Ryan's Winter Choir Concert.

Fort Wayne Roadtrip!

Avery with the Galiher boys.

Avery and Benjamin.
Wierdly, Kelly and I matched- and no, we did not plan it!

Last week, the boys and I took a roadtrip to Fort Wayne to visit my long-time friend from childhood, Kelly Gallmeyer. This was our first meeting with her new baby, Avery Nicole and our new baby, Benjamin, born only 2 weeks apart. As you can see in the pictures, they really hit it off! It was so cute to watch them snuggle and cuddle together on the couch.
Could Avery be another possible suitor for Benjamin?
