Winona Lake Getaway

For our anniversary, my parents gifted us with a weekend without the kiddos. Over the weekend we enjoyed a relaxing stay at Winona Lake in Warsaw. We enjoyed sleeping in, dining out (I even tried sushi), exploring the quaint little village nearby, and celebrating Sean's completion of school! I am so proud of him, and all that he has accomplished. He has been taking grad classes for nine years! Sean has completed his Masters in Ed and now has completed his Administrative Licensure coursework. He is an offical school administrator now. Congrats Sean!

Thomas turns FIVE!

Happy Birthday to our big boy!

For Thomas' fifth birthday, he chose to have a Halloween costume party with five of his best buddies. Sean dressed up as a baseball player, and I was a bride. A princess, elephant(Benjamin), Buzz Lightyear, Darthvader, and Batman came to celebrate! Sean ran the games and outdoor parade, while I handled the craft and clean-up. It was lots of fun, and the bday boy loved every minute of it.

Halloween

Happy Halloween!

Thomas the fruit bat

Benjamin is Peter Pan. He really thinks he is Peter Pan, and requests that we call him that. He even refers to me as Tinkerbell, and Sean as Capt Hook! He asked me over and over for a Peter Pan costume...finally found one on Halloween day 2 hours before trick-or-treating. Whew!

Zoo Boo

On what became an 85 degree day, we took the kids to Zoo Boo, with Sean's bro- Ryan. Seriously, when we left home it was cool outside, and 30 minutes later is was sunny and 25 degrees warmer. Indiana weather is crazy in the fall. Despite the heat, the boys enjoyed wearing their costumes (minus Andrew who could not tolerate the heat) and visiting the animals. Thomas chose to be a fruit bat again this year, and had his picture taken in front of the bat exibit.

Andrew tunrs ONE!!!

Cannot believe that our baby is one! Time really does fly.
We love you so much Andrew.

Stuffing red velvet cake into mouth. YUM!

Our cake turned out pretty goo, if I must say so myself.

Thanks everyone for a fun party!

Bathtime for the bday boy, and then off to bed!

Leaves, leaves and more leaves!

Out for a walk around the neighborhood to collect leaves and twigs.

This fall, the boys have LOVED playing in the leaves. We get a ton of leaves, and usually it has been such a pain cleaning the yard up, but this year we had help! Two eager little rakers made the job faster, and much more fun. That, and we really didn't worry about getting all the leaves up this year. We just enjoyed it.

Lemonade and a new bike

Andrew ready to roll.

The boys watched an episode of Curious George making a lemonade stand, so of course, we had to do it too! George is VIP around here. They had 10 customers, made $1, and split the profits. I think they should charge more next time!

Benjamin ready to try out his new bike. Thanks Uncle Tim and Aunt Steph!

Labor Day trip to Chicago

We headed to the Windy City over Labor Day to visit Joel and Annie and their boys. Sean and Joel took the 3 big boys to a CUBS game, while Annie and I styed home with the babies. It was hilarious watching the 2 little ones interact and play. They would follow each other all around the house, and baby talk back and forth. And the boys had a blast at the baseball game

too!

1st day of school

Thomas' headed back to school after a wonderful summer of sleeping late, and long summer nights. Since Sean is back at the high school as Associate Principal (yay Sean!), and has to be at school earlier, he will not be able to take Thomas to school in the mornings. So, three days a week I will be taking over bus duty and taking him to school, which means lots of waffles in the car as we rush out the door. Doesn't he look so grown-up? Sniff.

Benjamin turns THREE!

Benjamin asked for a Clifford-themed party this year. Apparently, Clifford is old school, because I could not find any bakery that would do a Clifford cake! We figured it out finally. He was so happy. We celebrated with friends, family and lots of kids.

Aunties, Grandma and Mammaw...and the bday boy!

Out little lover, Benjamin turned three this weekend. At three, he loves people and is smiling most of the time. He is easy-going, funny and loves to snuggle. What a blessing he is to our family. We love you little guy!

Potty Bootcamp

Benjamin is about to turn 3, so we figure it is time to kick the potty training up a notch, and get it over with. Hopefully, this will be the easiest kid yet. :) Only time will tell.

Happy 4th from Texas!

One evening, Andrew stayed home with Grandma, and the rest of us drove into Houston to see an Astros' game. What a stadium! It was brand-new and very nice, with a huge Kid Zone area for the boys to play when they got restless. That was by the 4th inning when all of their food was gone.

Could baseball be in their future?

On the 4th of July, we went to the boardwalk at Kema. There were lots of rides to go on, and games and food and lots of people, too. The boys loved it, especially the fireworks over the water at the end of the night. Thanks Papaw and Grandma for treating us to a such a special day!

Our first stop- the train, of course!

The five of us.

Sean carried Andrew around most of the day in the backpack carrier, and Andrew was very good. I don't know how Sean did it in the heat that day. What a trooper!
